Generous people do good works by giving.
Nice people do a good deed a day.
Feminists and Social Justice Warriors virtue signal and work to appease the ever shifting goals of their movement.
And, professing Christians try to please God with works not started by the Holy Spirit.

All of the above fail, as people present their own ‘good’ works, which will never please God.

Abraham’s faith and acceptance of a righteousness done by God created nations of the promise.
Abraham’s faithless moment of his own ‘good’ works created nations of destruction.

Islam is the ultimate expression of our own ‘good’ works.

Galatians 4:25
For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Isaiah 64:6
   …all our righteous acts are as filthy rags;

What is wisdom from ourselves – but not from God?
James 3:15
This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

The result of our good works when God is not involved:
Isaiah 64:7
And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

Do you offer God your works, or righteous works that began from God?

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Hebrews 11:4
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

You had two choices: belief or disbelief.
John 3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already

Do you choose sinless Christ or the criminal Barabbas?  The criminal is the world’s choice.

Matthew 27:17,22
Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
…Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified

Do you choose the works of the flesh or the spirit?  (Flesh means: our own efforts, our own ability.)

Galatians 5:19-23
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Do you choose to hold onto your life, or give up the flesh?

Philippians 1:21-22
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

Are you bound by flesh, or made free by the promise?
Galatians 4:22-23
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

God forever is to be associated with three men: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Exodus 3:15
And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

Do you choose the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, or do you choose the alternative?
And what is the alternative?
The alternative is Ishmael and Esau.

How can we be righteous in God’s eyes?
Faith is counted as righteousness.
Abraham believed God would provide him descendants.

Genesis 15:5-6
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

But when Abraham listened to his wife’s disbelief of God, his faith failed and he did his own good works.
Genesis 16:1-2
Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her.  And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

The promised son Isaac from Sarah did not yet result.  Instead, Ishmael resulted, a wild man.
(Muslims trace the roots of their false prophet Muhammad to Ishmael.)

Genesis 16:11-12
…shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction.
And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

Two great nations came from Abraham, one with God’s covenant, and one without.
Israel with the covenant, and Islamic without.
Genesis 17:19-21
And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Again, two nations descend – this time from Isaac.
Isaac’s sons, Jacob and Esau:
Genesis 25:23
And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Isaac’s descendants split to again represent a righteousness from our flesh, and a righteousness from God.
Romans 9:7-8
…In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 9:13
Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Why did God love Jacob, but hate Esau?
Jacob desperately wanted the righteousness which was from God, while Esau discarded that which was from God.

Genesis 25:31-34
And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Genesis 27:36
And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing.

Genesis 32:24,26
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day...
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

The only righteousness acceptable to God is from God through our mediator, Christ.
Philippians 3:9
…not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith

When we choose our own righteousness through humanism, philosophy, feminism, anti-feminism, social justice, charity, or our own church works, we are choosing the flesh instead of Holy Spirit, Esau instead of Jacob, Ishmael instead of Isaac, Barabbas instead of Christ.

Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Like Esau, God hates that we have thrown away our birthright, and began our own ‘good’ works.

And, Islam was always waiting for us.

Ishmael’s descendants moved into lands which are now Muslim nations: Iraq, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

Genesis 25:17-18
And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.
And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

Esau joined Ishmael.
Genesis 28:9
Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

Esau’s descendants in modern day Jordan.
Genesis 36:8
Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

The same nations are the punishers of covenant breaking Israel.

Psalm 83:4-6
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
   The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Genesis 27:38-40
And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
   And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;
And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.

And more, modern day Muslim nations attack Israel.

Ezekiel 38:5
Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet

2  Chronicles 30:6
…Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

Today, those nations which surround Israel now punish covenant breaking Christian nations with the rapid spread of Islam – beginning with the spread of Syrians.
