Female Leadership: A Tragedy

1 Timothy 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Imagine being a Christian all your life, and when you meet Christ, you hear:

Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

What happened?  Since you worshipped Christ and he never knew you, you worshipped a different Christ.

Luke 21:8
…Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them

2 Corinthians 11:4
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him

Don’t be deceived!

Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

2 Corinthians 11:13-14
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Ephesians 5:6
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Revelation 12:9
…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world

How does the Devil deceive?  Female leadership.

1 Timothy 2:14
…Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

2 Corinthians 11:3
…as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

2 Timothy 3:1,6
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come
…and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts

1 Timothy 4:7
…refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

Isaiah 3:12
...women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Proverbs 7:25-27
Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

After women fall, men fall.

Genesis 3:6
…she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

1 Kings 11:4
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God

Proverbs 31:3
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Proverbs 23:27-28
For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.
She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.

Romans 1:26-27
…their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman

Revelation 2:20
Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Men must not be this:

Jeremiah 51:30
The mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women

Men must be this:

1 Peter 3:7
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel

But The Final Word – is Always God’s Sovereignty

Psalm 135:6
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Psalm 115:3
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

As Israel again did evil in a time without a king, God, by his sovereign act, raised up a woman, Deborah to judge.
Importantly, however, she was under the headship of her husband.

Judges 4:4
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

Only God’s sovereignty can anoint women to positions of authority, positions which are normally reserved for men.

If we, without God’s blessing, raise women to these leadership positions, we act as God in rebellion against God.
