Many of you are ugly: fat, regularly sick, injury-ridden, etc.

It’s disgusting.
Stop it.

Matthew 7:16-19
Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

The fall of man resulted in an ugly world.

Genesis 3:17-18
   …cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
   Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee;

The Devil’s fall is a loss of beauty – a loss of perfection.
Ezekiel 28:7,12,13,15,17
…they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.
…Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
…Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
…Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

The Devil as the ugly reptilian:
Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world

Genesis 3:14
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life

Isaiah 27:1
In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

And demonic amphibians:
Revelation 16:13
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Worms and insects:
Mark 9:47-48
   ...cast into hell fire:
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Revelation 9:3
And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

But note there is deception:
2 Corinthians 11:14
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light

Matthew 23:27-28
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

For us, ugliness comes in the form of the obesity epidemic.
Proverbs 23:2
…put a knife to thy throat, if thou be given to appetite.

Philippians 3:19
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.

Surfeiting: Overindulgence in food or drink.
Luke 21:34
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life…

Live in abundance so that you can afford proper, healthy food.
Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work

And, ugliness comes in the form of sickness, chronic illness, diseases such as Down’s syndrome, autism, epilepsy, etc.

Get healed:
James 5:14-15
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
   And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;

Be healed in the name of Christ.
Matthew 4:23-24
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Enter the beautiful gate via Christ:
Acts 3:6-10
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.
And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

Fear the Lord for health.
Proverbs 3:7-8
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

False gods’ results include generational diseases:
Exodus 20:5
   Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Victims of car accidents, amputees, etc. are not beautiful.
Be healed – but also be protected from these awful incidents.
Psalm 91:4,7
…his truth shall be thy shield and buckler…
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Psalm 40:11-12
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
For innumerable evils have compassed me about

Psalm 57:1
…my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

Old people are usually ugly.
Not only be healed by Christ, but restore your youth.
Psalm 103:1-5
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
   Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
   Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

God restores the time the demonic insects have taken.
Joel 2:25
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Strength and beauty are the domain of the Lord.
Psalm 96:6-7
Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Psalm 90:17
…And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us

Psalm 27:4
…to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

Beauty of the Lord: beautiful creatures.
Ezekiel 10:14
...the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

Revelation 5:5-6
…the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain…

Overcoming through Christ is beauty:
Isaiah 35:3-7
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

Men’s beauty is in strength and wisdom.
Proverbs 20:29
The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.

Proverbs 16:31
The gray head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

Judges 6:12
The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

Song of Solomon 5:15
His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

Psalm 18:32-34
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

Men, like woman, often are good looking:
2 Samuel 14:25
But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

Ezekiel 23:12
She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.

But women’s beauty is specified and emphasized as being to be looked upon.
Genesis 24:16
And the damsel was very fair to look upon

Genesis 12:11
...he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon

2 Samuel 11:2
…the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

Song of Solomon 6:4,13
Thou art beautiful, O my love...
Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee.

Esther 1:11
...bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.

So, we’ll ask God to remove all of our ugliness, and our beauty will be unleashed?
For God’s people – men’s strength/wisdom and women’s hotness will be released?
In the end, yes.

Psalm 149:4
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Psalm 34:19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Revelation 21:2-4
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

But, in the meantime, we will likely have to be patient.
1 Peter 5:6,10
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time…
…after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

2 Corinthians 4:16-17
…but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
   For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

God’s strength is made perfect in weakness.
The Apostle Paul received an ugly thorn, but three times he asked for it to be removed.  God refused.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
…there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Our sufferings work towards glory, so that we can overcome, win victory through Christ and be saved.

Philippians 3:10-11
   That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Who was the ugliest in the Bible?

It was the man Christ Jesus who took our sin and became the ugly serpent.
Numbers 21:9
And Moses made a serpent of bronze, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of bronze, he lived.

John 3:14
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up

Isaiah 52:14
As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men

Matthew 27:29-30
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

Isaiah 53:2-6
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
